The Texas Comprehensive Protective Skills Course

The Texas Comprehensive Protective Skills Course from the Paratus Critical Skills Academy is a 3 week (15 TD), protective skills training program designed to provide veterans and transitioning military service members of all branches the requisite basic level training, certification, and licensure in order to obtain well-paying, gainful employment within the Texas private security industry.  Upon successful completion of the course, members will have undergone 200 hours of training; passed the Texas Private Security Level's II, III, and IV objective written licensing exams at 80% or better; passed the Texas Private Security Weapon(s) Qualification Course at 80% or better; successfully demonstrated mastery of associated physical skills; obtained certification in the use of OC pepper spray, expandable baton, SAS®, NAEMT First On The Scene medical certification, protective driving, optional TASER Conducted Energy Weapons; undergone additional training in legal and liability considerations, Use of Force considerations, executive protection industry best practices, security and EP ethics; and passed a subjective peer review process.
